Cape Talk interview with Martin Myers

Cape Talk interview with Martin Myers

I was humbled and honoured to be invited to chat with my old friend Martin Myers.

Martin is an industry veteran, and a fantastic host.

Since May 2023 Martin has a weekly show on Cape Talk called The Business of Entertainment which airs every Thursday at 9 pm with an audience of over 103 000 listeners.

Hosted by the Music Exchange founder, this weekly half-hour segment delivers powerful insights into the minds and careers of award-winning creatives.

The Business of Entertainment show hosts guests from all aspects of the performance industry.

Performers, managers, technicians and thought leaders are all invited to chat with Martin. The show has a strong focus on the business side of the creative industry.

My interview:

So for him to ask me to come chat was a bit of a surprise! But we had a fantastic time!

I arrived at the studio both times and was made to feel extremely comfortable. The producer of the show was a dynamic young tech who facilitaed the sessions flawlessly.

Martin and I chatted about the state of events in South Africa currently. We also discussed the impact of the exchange rate on gear purchases, the future of live events, and a lot more.

My history with CapeTalk

It was also a bit of a full circle moment for me, as I did my internship at CapeTalk when I was still in high school, and it sparked a love of the audio industry and made me realise that my passion was a viable career path.

I really appreciate the time I spent at the studio, and hope that my chat will be listened to!
